I’m not sure that denial works to solve any problem. Happiness is an active choice not a byproduct of denial.
While it seems more risky, I prefer the Google approach. All or nothing is will make this autonomous car thing a reality. Everything else is just a preview.

I think that’s a bit too forgiving. America’s diminishment is driven just as much by the fraying of domestic politics and chronic institutional gridlock as it is by the rise of rivals abroad. There. Much better. Can’t blame the foreigners for everything forever, no matter how hard we try.
I’m delighted that technology has reached a point where these sorts of feats are possible. If only we could get the global economy to a place where more people could afford to benefit from these scientific breakthroughs. If you’re gonna dream, dream big, right?
So they’re fined and allowed to go about their business? It’s great that a handful of individuals were fired for this crap, but this seems like a cultural thing and not an isolated group of rogue banker’s thing. Shouldn’t this sort of “breathtaking misconduct” be shut down entirely? How to do that would be the bigger question, I suppose, considering these banks finance a good part of the world.
